Eight New Salem deeds recorded, but sale prices disclosed on just one
Eight property deeds were recorded in New Salem between Aug. 7 and Sept. 5, but only one disclosed a sale price: 10 Branch Bridge Rd., which sold for $116,000 on Aug. 28 from David J. Mallet to Athol Credit Union. The other seven transfers, on Neilson Road, William Rice Road, Fay Road, North Spec Pond Road, Blackinton Road and Elm Street, listed no consideration amount. Banks, credit unions or mortgage servicers appear as a party in five of the eight deeds. With pricing data this sparse, no market-wide range, median or tone assessment can be drawn beyond the single disclosed sale.
