Board approves $7,137 transfer to address Board of Health shortfalls

New Salem selectboard approves $7,137 Board of Health transfer; plans October facility repairs. Treasurer Gabe Voelker presented the budget adjustment to cover unbudgeted agent hours and a vacant clerical position in the Board of Health, unanimously approved. The Building Maintenance Committee detailed a multi-year capital plan with immediate safety and repair priorities across town facilities; the board agreed to identify the top five urgent projects, obtain competitive bids, and present a funding proposal at a late-October special town meeting.

Additional unanimous votes approved the Village Ultra running event for October 10-11, a one-day liquor license for Home Fruit Wine, Mayors for Peace membership at $16, Cultural Council appointments for Ami Fagin and Wayne Hachey, and renewal of the Regional Animal Control Services contract.
