Board discusses police chief contract, approves harassment policies

New Salem Selectboard unanimously adopts harassment prevention and Pregnant Workers Fairness policies. Member Susan Cloutier emphasized the policies ensure full community participation and workforce safety under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Title IX. The board also unanimously approved all annual committee appointments for Fiscal Year 27 and a driveway permit application with a 50 dollar inspection fee.
The board unanimously approved a 79,000 dollar Tighe and Bond services agreement for a public water feasibility study addressing PFAS contamination, entirely grant-funded with 53,000 dollars for the study and 26,000 dollar reimbursement for previously completed work.
