Board secures $60,000 state grant for Meeting House

NEW SALEM — Selectboard names Taupier as Chief of Police negotiator. Richard Taupier, chair, was appointed as the primary negotiator for the Chief of Police contract. Taupier also received signatory authority to execute a Zoning Bylaws review contract with Mead, Talerman & Costa, LLC.
The town was awarded a $60,000 state matching grant for the 1794 Meeting House steeple removal and repair, and the Board voted unanimously to terminate a 2023 Collins Center contract that had been signed based on incorrect assumptions about State Community Compact Grant funding.
