New Salem Selectboard unanimously approves rabies testing agreement and appoints committee member. The Board authorized Franklin County Animal Control to manage the town's rabies testing procedures and appointed Nancy Slator to the Old Home Day Committee for a one-year term ending June 30, 2026, on motions by Rick Taupier, both actions approved unanimously. During a first review of the FY27 Annual Town Warrant, Town Coordinator Emily Hill reported a $105,000 deficit in the snow and ice budget due to a rough winter and rising material costs.
The Board also announced that New Salem has been designated a Housing Choice community by the state and received a $30,000 Emergency Response Grant to update its emergency response plan.
