Council on Aging level funds town grant, approves Sand for Seniors

NEW SALEM — Council on Aging level funds town grant request. The board voted to seek $750, the same amount as the prior year, after debate over operational expenses including church rent for the Stowell Building. Sue Arnold, Chair, also reported that volunteers with Village Neighbors serving New Salem have increased from 29 to 35, with service recipients growing from 18 to 21 and total services provided up from 76 to 81.
The Council voted support for a Sand for Seniors program pending consultation with Police Chief Bonafini regarding volunteer liability.
