Municipal Light Plant increases debt service contribution to $90,000

NEW SALEM — Finance Committee prepares FY27 budget override materials as Municipal Light Plant increases debt service contribution. The MLP agreed to add $15,000 to its contribution, bringing the total to $90,000 and reducing the taxation funding requirement to $60,000. The committee added $1,000 for animal inspection services and noted the current year snow and ice deficit stands at $103,000.
The public hearing on the FY27 budget and override is scheduled for April 21 at 6:30 pm in the Community Room of the library.
